Death of my son (General)

dhw: I had drafted today's posts prior to receiving the news that my elder son has just died.
He has been ill for some time, but although the news was expected, it is nonetheless devastating. He leaves behind a wife and two young children.

I don't know what the next few days will bring, as I and the rest of the family try to cope with the emotional and practical consequences. I would like to continue these discussions, but if there are blank days, you will know the reason why.

DAVID: I know his death was expected, but it still hurts when it happens. We share in your sorrow.

Thank you. I know that you yourself have suffered a similar tragedy in the past and will understand the impact it has at various levels, especially emotional.

Today's posts will definitely be the last until some time next week.
