I've started to read Max Tegmark's book "Our Mathematical Universe". It seems all his ideas of multiverses are extrapolations of the inflation theory. I cannot help but think there must be some alternative to inflation that explains the same things without leading to these absurdities. Probably just crack-brain stuff, but you never know ....
